LAKKI MARWAT: Gunmen killed a motorcyclist and injured the pillion rider on the Lakki-Mianwali Road near Lakki city on Wednesday.

Shoaib Sultan, 16, and his cousin, Zakir, 22, came under the gun attack at midnight, according to the local police. The police said that both Sultan and Zakir suffered bullet injuries and were shifted to the Government City Hospital by the people but the doctors declared the latter dead.

They quoted the injured Sultan as claiming that the gunshots were fired at him and Zakir by Latifullah and three accomplices near a cement block factory.

He also insisted that the deceased had a motorcycle-related dispute with Latifullah. The police said that the gunmen fled after the attack.

SEALED: The district administration on Thursday sealed a medical laboratory and six medical stores during a crackdown on spurious drugs and substandard health facilities in Lakki Marwat city.

After receiving complaints, deputy commissioner Abdul Hadi tasked AAC Awais Khan and drug inspector Sajid Noor with paying surprise visits to private health facilities and medical stores in Lakki Marwat city to act against violators of the law.

During a visit to private clinics, laboratories, pharmacies, X-ray labs and other health facilities, the officials checked documents, hygienic conditions, medical equipment, and quality of services.

They sealed a medical lab and six medical stores over the failure of their owners to submit registration documents to the KP Healthcare Commission and Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan.
